"Please raise your child to be a fine human being."
Awesome introduction in my violin lesson book by Shin’ichi Suzuki urging parents to provide a musical environment for their developing children. He says we learn our mother language in infancy with ease, so we know our children are at least capable of that, so why would we hold them to any less of a standard? They can learn music just as easily if nurtured properly. This concept is not new to me but it’s putting it in a new light. I think this journey is going to be more than just learning a physical technique, it’s going to be a mental, emotional and spiritual journey as well. Creativity spawns creativity which I’ve already been experiencing. Starting a blog like this is not something I would normally do, and I already have so many ideas! Like I said before, 2012 is the year of doing something.
I went through a few more pages in my book today and learned the rest of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star by ear. I tried learning that classical violin song (Dun, dun Dun, dun Dun dun Dun dun DUN!) but Praveen was having a hard time concentrating on work so I had to stop. I’m really feeling this coming naturally to me and I just hope I’m not deluding myself.
How I’m feeling: Like this is going to take me to the next level in several aspects of my life. It’s already opening up different centers in my brain. I can feel it, and it feels good.
